Sourced from 100% natural and hypoallergenic silk fibers, Silk Charmeuse Satin fabric is woven in a special, satin-style weave that features a 4 over 1, warp-weft pattern. The 4 over 1, warp weft pattern means that 1 warp thread will pass under 4 weft threads horizontally. This leaves mostly uninterrupted vertical weft threads showing on the reflective face of the fabric. Silk Charmeuse Satin fabric measures 45 inches in width, is 0.18 millimeters thick, has a 90 GSM, and weighs approximately 4 ounces per linear yard.

The sample is wonderful. Gorgeous material at a great price. Plus the sample was sent out promptly. I'm still in the planning stage but will most likely choose this material. I'm just having trouble being able to tell if the larger piece of material is what I'm looking for. Because the material has to be light enough to ripple and flutter. It's for a dance costume.

I have a special shaped pillow that is very long and shaped like a shepherd’s hook and I love silk pillowcases. This fabric will work perfectly. The weight is not too light and the price point makes it affordable to make a couple cases. It pre-washed well and I’m going to love it!
