Fabric Wholesale Direct presents the scrap box! The scrap box is an assortment of all different types of fabric that did not pass our stringent quality inspection. This can be due to several reasons below:
With a ton of fabric that are not available for sale through our normal ordering process, we have created a compilation of our clearance items all in one. The scrap box includes fabrics ranging from our popular African print fabrics, cotton prints, stretch velvets all the way to our beautiful hand crafted laces and more. The scrap box comes in three different weight options, weighing approximately 10 pounds, 15 pounds and 20 pounds. With a box full of mystery and a little bit of luck, you never know what fabric you may get!
*Fabric Scrap Box is a final sale item. There are no further returns, exchanges or refunds for this product after purchase. Please note that some fabrics can have damages from the above mentioned reasons and more. All sales are final.
I received my order today for the 20 lb. fabric scrap box. When I placed the order I included the following note: "This is my second try at the scrap box - last time I got primarily cream colored micro velvet. I'd like to see some of the other fabrics that you offer if possible. Looking for a variety." I'll enclose a picture of the fabric received, but the variety was much better on this order than the first one. The box contained 13 pieces of fabric. I'm not sure what all the fabrics are specifically, but I will give an idea for the ones I don't recognize. There was one large piece of red waterproof canvas, two white polar fleece, one burgundy polar fleece, three (different colors) micro velvet, a light weight green satin type material, a black tulle with sparkles, an off white fabric that has a net type appearance, two knit fabrics (white and grey) and finally a small black piece of a rayon type fabric. The quality of the fabric in the box overall is definitely worth the price IMO - particularly if you use a variety of fabrics. The box is marketed as a scrap box and as such you should expect some of the fabrics to have been cut wonky or might need washed, but that is what I would expect with a scrap box. I was extremely disappointed with the first 20 lb. scrap box, but this second scrap box at least has a variety, though sadly still no cottons or African prints.
This scrap box was everything I expected! Although I got a lot of satin fabric. I got about 5yards of some really nice velvet! I loved it and will be ordering again. I normally don’t know what I’ll sew next, so this is perfect for someone like me!
I ordered the 10 lb box. I got approx 15 pieces of fabric, most of them a little over a yard. This included some beautiful red and black velvet and about 8 different colors of satin. I have already used a pretty purple piece to make a little girl’s dress. I did not see any kind of defect in any of the fabric
I ordered the 20 lb box. I got 20 lbs of fabric. I guess the problem was that I received more of the 2 items I had ordered from you in the past (faux leather and waterproof canvas). What I was hoping for was examples of the other fabrics you carry. Also if did not pass notice that faux leather and canvas are heavier weight products which quickly filled the 20 lbs. I feel that didn't get that much of a deal for the amount of fabric received. I was disappointed. Will it keep me from ordering again - no I really like the quality of your fabrics as well as the value of them in the orders prior to the 20lb box. But I will think twice before I buy another scrape box. The whole experience made me sad.
I didn’t like my remnants box there was no variety of fabrics in my package. All I received was 1/2yd of cotton and a bunch of canvas waterproof fabric.
