The ripstop collection includes a unique variety of nylon interwoven fabrics, treated with different coatings that can be used for any of your indoor and outdoor needs. The special fibers used are placed within the weave at specific points, allowing for the fabric to have superior quality and hold against all types of wear and tear.
70 Denier Nylon Ripstop (PU Coated) - 1.9oz - is a 100% nylon fabric with a soft finish and is 58/60” inches wide. This fabric in particular is specially coated with PU (polyurethane). PU coating allows for the ripstop to be waterproof by using a seam sealing process (the process of covering the stitch holes and seams in a fabric to prevent any water leakage), withstanding all types of water exposures. Compared to many other ripstop fabrics within the industry such as DWR or Silnylon, the PU coating nylon ripstop has superior waterproofing qualities.
70 Denier Nylon Ripstop (DWR) - 1.9oz - is a 100% nylon fabric with a soft finish and is 58/60” inches wide. This fabric is also coated with a nanotechnology film called DWR (durable water repellent). DWR allows for the ripstop to be water-repellent (not waterproof), withstanding above-average water exposures.
Polyester Ripstop (DWR) - 2.65oz - is a 100% polyester fabric with a soft finish and is 58/60” inches wide. This fabric is also coated with a nanotechnology film called DWR (durable water repellent). And because it is a polyester, it naturally dries quicker oppose to the nylon dwr, as polyester fibers do not absorb water. Alongside this, it is has a more distinct feel and hold with stiffness, being heavier and having more structure to it.
