DTY Double Brushed Poly fabric is a type of stretchy, knit jersey fabric that is relaxed and incredibly soft. The “DTY” of DTY Double Brushed Polyester stands for “drawn twisted yarn,” and refers to the low twist given to the yarns. This knitting style gives the fabric a soft, fuzzy texture and the ability to resist wrinkles by snapping back to the fabric's original shape. Brushed on both the face and backside, DTY Double Brushed Poly has the same comfortable texture on both sides of the fabric.
Woven from a blend of 92% polyester and 8% spandex fibers, this fabric can stretch 50% vertically, and 50% horizontally from its original size. Furthermore, DTY Double Brushed Poly fabric measures 58/60 inches wide, is 0.51 millimeters thick, has a 200 GSM, and weighs approximately 10.5 ounces per linear yard. This medium-weight fabric has a bouncy and flowy drape when it’s hung. But wait, there’s more! DTY Double Brushed Poly fabric is available in a variety of bright and vibrant colors since the fabric holds dyes so well. I made some shirts with this material, and they have been worn for over a year (almost constantly), other than to be washed (hard durable wash cycle). The shirts are still in amazing shape, they have retained their original color, stretch, and soft texture. We usually wear shirts out because the material gives out, but this material is amazing and I really like it. Only negative is that the navy color gets on things, like bed sheets, over time (even after doing pre-wash).
