Stretch charmeuse satin fabric is composed of 97% polyester / 3% spandex and has a beautiful smooth shiny satin side with a modest matte finish on the back. The fabric is tightly woven and has a light 2-way vertical stretch, making it extremely durable. In addition, our stretch charmeuse is approximately 7 ounces per linear yard which is a better construction than most standard stretch charmeuse fabrics. This heavier gsm (grams per square meter) gives the fabric a richer feeling and a better hold when draping.
The stretch charmeuse satin's spandex content makes this fabric the ideal choice for form fitting garments. This fabric is perfect for dresses, blouses, lingerie, skirts, dance wear and more. In addition, stretch charmeuse satin can also be used for drapery, decorations and crafts because of its elegant drape.

Love working with this fabric. It cut cleanly, sewed beautifully, and has worn well, too. It has some stretch, but not as much as heavier fabrics—use bias cuts if you really need stretch!
