Frequently Asked Questions for Ottertex® Canvas Waterproof
What is the difference between Ottertex© Waterproof Canvas & duck canvas?
Both waterproof canvas and duck canvas are durable fabrics with vibrant color selections. Waterproof canvas is manufactured with 100% polyester fibers, PVC backing, and waterproof coatings, while duck canvas is made with 100% cotton fibers and is fairly absorbent. A major difference between waterproof canvas and duck canvas is that waterproof canvas is manufactured with a lower thread count, which makes the fabric feel grainier. Waterproof canvas is also UV resistant (500 hours approximately), mold & mildew resistant, and wrinkle resistant, while duck canvas is a natural fabric without these additional qualities. Lastly, waterproof canvas can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a cleaning solution, while duck canvas is machine washable.
