DIY Game Of Thrones Cosplay Tutorial

Project Description

Khalessi, Mother of Dragons, Ashen one, The mad queen, regardless of what you call her it is known and widely accepted that Daenerys Targaryen is one of the most iconic characters in the Game of Thrones Series with the most iconic set wardrobe today I am going to show you how to create one of her Season 2 costumes for your cosplay wardrobe.

Supplies

Here's what you will need!

Step 1 - Cutting the fabric

Cut out the sewing pattern following your measurements serge edges of brocade pieces to minimize fraying.

Step 2 - Sew Front

For the tabard sew front pieces to side front pieces.

Step 3 - Fuse Interfacing

Fuse interfacing to both front bands and sew remaining front bands to interfaced bands right sides together

Step 4 - Front Bands

Turn front bands right side out and press. Following pattern guidelines topstitch front bands.

Step 5 - Attach Front Bands

Baste front bands to the front piece of tabard at shoulder and sides.

Step 6 - Pin & Stitch

Pin yoke front pieces to shoulder and stitch.

Step 7 - Stitch Back & Side

Stitch back and side back pieces together.

Step 8 - Stitch Yoke

Stitch yoke back to shoulder edge of back pieces.

Step 9 - Join the Back & Front

With right sides facing each other stitch back and front pieces together.

Step 10 - Stitch Lining Pieces

Stitch lining pieces in the same manner as the tabard.

Step 11 - Pin Lining & Tabard

With right sides together pin lining to tabard matching seams leaving an opening at the lower edges to turn tabard right side out.

Step 12 - Install Zipper

To close lower edge seams install a zipper and stitch the remaining edge.

Step 13 - Install Hook & Eye Loops

lightly press tabard to flatten and install 3 hook and eye loops to the upper back piece of the tabard.

Step 14 - SKirt

Following the pattern sew for the skirt, stitch front side pieces to the front and repeat the same for the back.

Step 15 - Stitching of Skirt

Stitch front and back skirt pieces together at the side seam leaving a 7" opening on one side for the zipper. Install zipper at this step.

Step 16 - Interface Skirt

Interface skirt waistband and iron an 1/2" fold.

Step 17 - Pin Waistband

Pin waistband to skirt and stitch.

Step 18 - Stitch the Waistband

Fold the waistband over the inside of the skirt and slipstitch the waistband catching and sealing raw edges.

Step 19 - Hem the Skirt

To hem skirt use narrow hem foot for even stitching.

Step 20 - Costume Belt

You can create a belt for this costume out of fabric using the pattern but I opted for craft foam and paint.
